Uppsala startup wins Gates Foundation support

Uppsala‑based Readily Diagnostics has been awarded USD 970,000 from the Gates Foundation to develop a test for some of the world’s most common sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

The project is aimed at low‑ and middle‑income countries, with the goal of creating a test that can detect chlamydia, gonorrhea and trichomoniasis early and at an affordable price—three infections that cause millions of new cases every year. The diagnostic platform Readily is developing is intended to deliver results close to the patient, without the need for central laboratories.
