The Swedish medical technology company Sectra issued a security notice via the Swedish Medical Products Agency regarding its breast cancer screening software. The software, named IDS7, is used in breast radiology units across Swedish regions and by a few customers in Norway and Denmark.
“In the use of the ‘IDS7 screening workflow’ in Sectra Workstation IDS7, a woman who had been reviewed by two doctors and selected for ‘Discussion’ was unintentionally marked as ‘Healthy’ in the discussion workflow without being properly assessed. The woman was later diagnosed with breast cancer and has now passed away,” the notice from Sectra states.
