XVIVO’s heart technology receives CE certificates

The standard method for preserving donated hearts prior to transplantation is to keep them cooled at four degrees Celsius in a potassium solution inside a cooler using ice. Surgery must take place within three to four hours — after that, the risk of complications for the patient receiving the heart increases.
