LEO Pharma acquires dermatology drug for 435 million USD

LEO Pharma strengthens its dermatology portfolio by acquiring the late-stage drug candidate dersimelagon.

Danish pharmaceutical company LEO Pharma has made an acquisition of the worldwide rights to dersimelagon from Japanese corporation Tanabe Pharma.

Dersimelagon is an investigational orally-ingested drug for the rare genetic skin diseases EPP and XLP.

LEO Pharma will pay 435 million USD for the rights, the Danish dermatology specialist announces in a press release.
