BioArctic has entered a research collaboration with the Swedish‑Japanese company Mesenkia Therapeutics, marking the company’s first step into the oncology field.

Mesenkia is a preclinical biotech company based in Uppsala, founded on research from Uppsala University and the University of Tokyo. The company is developing an antibody treatment for glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.

The collaboration aims to combine Mesenkia’s antibody with BioArctic’s BrainTransporter platform, a technology designed to enable more efficient transport of antibodies across the blood–brain barrier. This barrier normally makes it very difficult, especially for large‑molecule biological drugs, to reach the brain.
