In the SERENA‑4 study, which included 1,371 patients, Etcamah (camizestrant) was tested in combination with Pfizer’s cancer drug Ibrance for previously untreated patients with advanced ER‑positive breast cancer. This is the most common form of advanced breast cancer, where hormones drive tumor growth.
Etcamah misses main goal after recent FDA approval
AstraZeneca’s tablet therapy Etcamah for breast cancer has failed to meet the primary endpoint in a Phase III study, the company reports. The announcement comes just a week after the drug received approval in the United States for another form of breast cancer.
