GSK to close German vaccine plant – 641 jobs at risk

The British pharmaceutical giant plans to close its vaccine manufacturing site in Dresden in the summer of 2027.

The decision comes amid declining demand for traditional egg-based flu vaccines. GSK has therefore reviewed its two manufacturing sites in Dresden and Sainte-Foy, Canada, concluding that it has more capacity than it needs. Production will instead be consolidated in Canada.
