Rapid and thorough homogenization of samples

The Fastprep instrument offers a means by which virtually any type of sample can be quickly and consistently lysed within 40 seconds. The Fastprep-24 instrument, on display at the Nordic Biolabs booth, uses an optimized motion to disrupt cells through multidirectional beating of the sample material by specialized Lysing Matrix beads. The system is designed to simultaneously homogenize up to 24 samples in two-milliliter tubes or two samples in 50-milliliter tubes. The Fastprep can be used for extracting and isolating RNA, proteins or genomic DNA. Since the lysis process uses single-use sample tubes, the risk for cross-contamination and the need for clean-up are virtually eliminated.
