75 million for research schools

Gothenburg University, Karolinska Institutet, Linköping University and Umeå University have received SEK 75 million from the Research Council. The money will be used to build five national clinical research schools. The research schools will receive 15 million each over five years.

Two of the graduate schools will be focusing on general clinical research - one at the Karolinska Institute and one at Linköping University. The third, at Umeå University, will focus on general medical research while Gothenburg University and Karolinska Institutet will focus on psychiatric research. In 2011 the Research Council will announce additional funding for research schools in clinical medical researchs.
